VdS Pre-Conform - IP500 IoT Platform for Comfort & Security Applications for Commercial Buildings

Part One: EN / VdS Pre-Conform IP500 Standard for Commercial Buildings / For the last two decades, the wireless IoT industry has announced many wireless standards for SmartHome applications. However, none of these wireless standards addressed the security / safety applications for commercial buildings and industrial objects as a wireless IoT platform. Individual OEMs and lager players have developed their proprietary wireless connected OEM products (i.e. for intrusion, smoke applications). But these solutions are not interoperable with other OEM products and in many cases do not providing the needed performance (highest data rate at long range), lowest latency, robustness and reliability at multiple bands, as well as ultra-low power consumption in combination with mobility of assets at the same time. The bases of such IoT wireless network platform should be the IEEE 802.15.4 and the IPv6 / 6LowPAN international standards. On top of that, such wireless IoT network platform should also be conform with the safety & security regulations (like the European Norm (EN) certified by the VdS organization (Germany). The IP500 Alliance have worked closely with large OEMs and in partnership with VdS and TÜV Rheinland to specify the most performing and robust wireless IoT wireless standard as a wireless IoT network platform for commercial buildings. In 2019 the IP500 Alliance has announced the worldwide first IoT network standard which has received the pre-conformity by VdS for security applications. Therefore, IP500 wireless IoT network platform provides to OEMs a full interoperability between security and comfort applications in the same wireless IoT infrastructure. Part Two: Full Interoperability of OEM products between security & comfort devices / This session will demonstrate the scalability and interoperability of the total IP500 ECO networks / system as a wireless IoT network platform for commercial buildings. It enables the OEMs to develop untouched IoT applications, because of the pre-conformation by VdS, the IP500 wireless IoT network platform allows to combine security application with comfort applications, as well as complementary OEM and data management / analytics solutions using the same IP500 wireless infrastructure. Part Three: IP500 SmartBuilding & Industry Projects / This presentation slot will demonstrate how the IP500 OEM solutions will be integrated from a smart device up to a building management system (BMS) or cloud-based applications, with highest security, scalability, flexibility and interoperability. Having all smart Devices (Security and Comfort) in the same IoT Infrastructure, the owner and their service departments (facility management) of commercial buildings is able to build their business and processes without changing infrastructure or IoT protocols at the planning phase and even in the entire operation phase (retrofit). This session will demonstrate why many projects have chosen the IP500 Standard as the mandatory IoT Infrastructure.
