The future will be shaped by intelligent, "thinking along" and networked machines and systems in order to optimize value-added and business processes. Smart sensors are the key to IoT. Wireless technologies have become an integral part of M2M (machine-to-machine) communication. Much is based on established mobile phone standards such as 2G; LTE and NB-IoT, but there are many alternatives, whose potential is only just beginning and which offer undreamt-of possibilities for IoT and Industry 4.0. Bluetooth5 and LoRa® are perfectly suited for asset tracking, monitoring, smart sensors, medical care applications, augmented reality, cloud applications and much more. The decision-making factors are: no mobile network charges, ranges of up to 16km can be covered and the technology can be integrated safely and easily into existing systems. In addition to the already proven technologies, new, different radio standards will find their way into production processes. In the next few years companies will change their structures and contribute to optimization of various processes. The degree of innovation, especially regarding to the possibilities of LoRa® and Bluetooth in combination, can only be classified as very high. In our presentation we will show different best practice examples from trade and industry. Focused on radio based solutions and how they facilitate and optimize the production process and the daily work routine. In particular, we will focus on the radio technologies Bluetooth, LoRa® and NB-IoT, whose potential is enormous.At the same time, it is important for us not only to highlight the potential for optimization, but also to make it very clear how easy and safe the implementation of these technologies has already become. For this purpose, we will show different, already realised, best practice examples of radio integration or hybrid radio integration Best Practice Overview: • Best Practice: Material Handling / Telematics & Logistics o Subject area: Condition Monitoring, Smart Shopping ?
