Being part of our society, we, Messe München, are dedicated to our social and ecological responsibilities. Therefore, sustainability is an integral part of our corporate strategy.
We are committed ourselves to become CO2 neutral by 2030—20 years ahead of the goal set out in the Paris Climate Agreement and 10 years earlier than targeted by the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA).
For this purpose, we have developed a sustainability strategy tailored to the exhibition industry. As part of our holistic sustainability program, we continuously initiate projects, which aim to reduce the CO2 emissions of Messe München.
We strive for sustainability for ourselves and our customers. We are actively promoting sustainability at our events.
Our role as the world‘s leading trade fair entails accepting responsibility. That is why we want to express the principle of sustainability in our actions. We want to set a good example and make electronica more sustainable in an ongoing process, from the selection of materials, making a climate protection contribution for unavoidable CO₂ emissions and the handling of waste to the motivation of our exhibitors and visitors. Let’s join forces to make electronica even more sustainable.
With its solutions, the electronics industry is making a significant contribution to achieving CO2 neutrality. In organizing electronica, too, we are consistently pursuing a comprehensive sustainability concept. Support us in this and let's shape a more sustainable future together
As the world’s leading trade fair and conference for electronics, we not only want to set an example, but point the way.
Our priorities:
Our goal is to make electronica increasingly sustainable. However, CO2 emissions can not be avoided while preparing and holding an event. Therefore we are supporting various climate protection projects in cooperation with our partner myclimate.
One example on how we reduce our CO₂ emissions is the elimination of aisle carpets. This saves around 484t of CO₂, which is equivalent to 1,000 economy flights from Munich to Mallorca.
With the GoGreen Ticket, we are offering the opportunity to contribute to climate protection for the greenhouse gas emissions produced.
