CEO Roundtable

One of the highlights on the evening before electronica is the CEO Roundtable. This international discussion panel made up of CEOs and decision makers has been talking about the future of the electronics industry as well as sociopolitical and other relevant topics during electronica since 1998.

electronica 2024 – Leading the way to the All Electric Society

The motto of electronica 2024 is the way to the All Electric Society. The industry acts as a driving force and solution provider and will be presenting innovative products and solutions as well as forward-looking visions for a carbon-neutral society at the trade fair.

In electronica’s anniversary year, the CEO Roundtable will take place on the evening before the first day of the trade fair and bring together top decision-makers from the industry. Jean-Marc Chery (STMicroelectronics), Jochen Hanebeck (Infineon), Kurt Sievers (NXP Semiconductors) and Barbara Bergmeier (JLR) as an invited guest will discuss current challenges facing the industry on this path: Where does Europe stand compared to the U.S. and Asia? Are supply chains more resilient today than they were before the pandemic? And what influence or impact does artificial intelligence have on the electronics industry?

Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, CEO of Messe München GmbH, Philipp Harting, Chairman of the Board of the HARTING Technology Group and Chairman of the electronica Advisory Board, and Dr. Gunther Kegel, President of ZVEI, will give welcoming speeches at the opening of this evening and on the occasion of electronica's 60th anniversary.

Barbara Bergmeier joined JLR as Executive Director, Industrial Operations in July 2022.

She leads JLR's Industrial Operations organisation, which incorporates the responsibilities previously split across its separate manufacturing, purchasing and supply chain teams. This change consolidates accountability for the complete ecosystem of how the company produces vehicles, in one place.

A key priority for Barbara’s reconfigured organisation is JLR’s robust, sustainable end-to-end supply chain as part of a fully connected industrial strategy. In turn, this will deliver greater efficiency and resilience of the company’s industrial operations across a connected global landscape.

Barbara joined JLR from Airbus Defence and Space, where she was Executive Vice President & Head of Operations. Barbara previously worked for almost 25 years at the BMW Group in international roles including Vice President of Chassis & Drive Components and Vice President of Assembly & Logistics.

A values-based, people-centric leader with more than 30 years’ multinational experience in the global automotive and aerospace industries, Barbara has an extensive background in OEM as well as tier one and internal supplier environments. Her diverse perspectives will enable Barbara to build on strong supplier relations, reinforcing JLR's position as a customer of choice.

Barbara is passionate about the digitalisation of companies as part of improved performance and competitiveness. Her dedication to quality and sustainability will play a key role in realising JLR’s Reimagine strategy, including fulfilling its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitment to reduce operational greenhouse gas emissions by 46 per cent by 2030, as well as achieving net zero carbon emissions across supply chain, products and operations by 2039.

Barbara holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Landshut, Germany. She lives in the UK with her husband Sebastian and, outside work, Barbara’s interests include the great outdoors, animals, running, yoga and cooking for family and friends. She is also passionate about supporting community and charity endeavours.
