Robert Schachner

"Robert Schachner has been working in the field of real-time communication and industrial automation for nearly 30 years. Through numerous research programs and more than 300 industrial projects, he has explored and demonstrated the advantages of middleware-based architectures across both OT and IT environments. His contributions to the VDI/VDE 2657 guideline on middleware in automation technology, combined with his teaching activities in computer science at the University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim, have further strengthened his expertise in communication technologies and distributed systems. For most of his career, Robert has worked as an entrepreneur and technology consultant. Since 2020, he has served as CTO of embedded ocean GmbH. As a key member of the development team behind Xentara, he has helped shape a real-time software platform that enables the seamless integration of IoT, AI, and OT technologies within a unified architecture."
