Nordic Semiconductor recently released its proprietary Axon NPU across a growing portfolio of wireless products. From the nRF54LM20B Bluetooth SoC to the nRF92 Series cellular IoT modules, with new devices and supporting more connectivity standards in the pipeline. This talk examines the architectural decisions behind bringing a shared NPU design to all connectivity products, balancing inference performance and energy efficiency at ultra-low power budgets, and what on-chip AI acceleration means for edge AI application development across different connectivity domains.
