(P11-14) Apollo MxFE™ Power Simplified: Direct From Silent Switcher® 3 Technology

High-speed, high-precision data converters in size, weight, and power (SWaP)-constrained systems need extremely clean power. Supply noise can appear as phase noise and spurs that degrade SNR, mask weak signals, and increase error rates. Conventionally, low-dropout (LDO) regulators post-filter switching-regulator noise, adding components, board area, and power dissipation. This session shares progress and results in challenging that convention using Silent Switcher® 3 regulators, which combine LDO-class broadband noise with high efficiency at multi-MHz switching frequencies. Applied to ADI’s Apollo MxFE™, this approach eliminated all LDOs, reducing power solution size by about 60% while matching the original phase noise and maintaining high efficiency.
