Sensing the Cabin from Every Angle: Synchronized Multistatic UWB for Automated, Human-Centric Vehicles

As vehicles automate more functions, reliable sensing inside the cabin becomes as safety-critical as sensing outside it. Driver-state monitoring during automation hand-offs, child presence detection, and occupant awareness are shifting from optional features to regulatory and Euro NCAP expectations, demanding sensing that holds up under occlusions, multiple passengers, and changing postures. This talk presents synchronized multistatic UWB as the next architectural step.
