Vortragsbeschreibung
Conventional battery monitoring relies mainly on voltage, current, and temperature. However, every charge and discharge cycle also produces a mechanical response as the cell expands and contracts. This presentation investigates how real-time pressure measurements can complement conventional signals and provide additional insight into state of charge (SoC) and state of health (SoH).
A prismatic LFP cell was cycled for 2,000 hours under controlled conditions while voltage, current, temperature and pressure were recorded simultaneously. An ultrathin, flexible pressure-sensing film developed by Flexoo was evaluated against an external reference load cell. The pressure film reproduced the cell’s reversible breathing pattern and captured the progressive evolution of its pressure envelope during ageing.
