(P12-12) High-Bandwidth Current Sensing in Power Electronics

As power electronics continue to evolve, advanced converter topologies and wide-bandgap devices such as SiC and GaN are driving significant gains in efficiency and power density. To fully realize these benefits, designers need precise, high-bandwidth current sensing with negligible phase shift. This presentation explores the strengths and limitations of conventional sensing methods and showcases Infineon’s high-bandwidth, low-noise Hall and inductive coil current sensors, which enable lower THD, reduced signal distortion, and rapid fault detection for superior system performance.
