Vortragsbeschreibung

Matter solved the smart home. The devices work together. The ecosystems talk to each other. For consumer applications, the standard has delivered on its promise. Commercial and industrial are a different story. The same interoperability that works in a living room should work in an office building, a hospital, or a factory floor. But it doesn't yet, at least not at scale. Professional installers won't switch to Matter-based infrastructure until there is enough compatible equipment to build a complete system. Manufacturers won't prioritize commercial-grade Matter products until the demand is there. That is starting to change. The CSA member list now includes major names in building automation, industrial controls, HVAC, and professional networking. Companies that have never shipped a consumer product in their lives. The infrastructure side is moving too, with router manufacturers working on ecosystem-independent Thread border routers that fit into standard IT management frameworks rather than smart home apps. This talk looks at where the bottlenecks actually are, what is being done about them, and what it would take for Matter to become the default connectivity layer for commercial buildings. The standard is ready. The ecosystem is catching up.
