Integrating Multiphysics Simulation into Electronic Product Development

As electronic devices become increasingly complex and compact, engineers need to consider mechanical, thermal, and electromagnetic effects throughout the development process. Physical testing remains essential, but relying on testing alone can make it difficult to identify potential failure mechanisms early enough to improve a design. Multiphysics simulation enables engineers to virtually evaluate electronic devices under real-world operating conditions. By considering different physical effects within a unified modeling environment, simulation can provide insight into interactions that influence performance, robustness, and lifetime. In this presentation, we will demonstrate this approach using examples from electronic device packaging and testing.
