Biografie
"Tania Scroggie is Director of OEM Relations at General Digital Corporation (GDCA), where she develops long-term lifecycle strategies for embedded systems supporting aerospace, defense, industrial, transportation, and critical infrastructure programs. She works directly with leading OEMs to address product obsolescence, lifecycle sustainment, manufacturing continuity, and the preservation of engineering capability for mission-critical embedded systems.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Over a career spanning more than 25 years, Ms. Scroggie has worked across the complete lifecycle of embedded products, including design validation, manufacturing test, new product introduction (NPI), production engineering, lifecycle sustainment, and strategic OEM partnerships. This combination of engineering and business experience provides a unique perspective on how early design decisions influence manufacturing, qualification, supportability, and operational continuity decades after product release.
Prior to joining GDCA, she held engineering positions with Apple, Sage Instruments, Kontron America, Diamond Systems Corporation, and LeCroy Corporation. Her work included embedded product development, automated test engineering, manufacturing process development, root-cause analysis, field reliability, technical training, and customer-facing engineering support. At Kontron, she supported the transition of embedded products from engineering into manufacturing while leading the development of production test solutions. At Diamond Systems, she led manufacturing test improvements, resolved critical field issues affecting more than 1,000 deployed systems, and contributed to securing a multi-year military sustainment program through engineering improvements and reliability initiatives.
Since joining GDCA in 2019, Ms. Scroggie has focused on the engineering challenges associated with long-life embedded systems. She has led strategic engagements with major OEMs involving product lifecycle management, technology transfer, manufacturing continuity, and obsolescence mitigation, helping expand GDCA's legacy product portfolio by approximately 1,000 products while establishing multiple long-term OEM partnerships.
Her work has provided direct insight into the operational realities that emerge years after products reach End-of-Life, including configuration management, manufacturing knowledge preservation, qualification continuity, obsolete test equipment, undocumented production processes, and the engineering decisions that determine whether embedded systems can continue to be manufactured, repaired, and supported over decades of service.
This presentation draws upon experience gained from both engineering and lifecycle strategy, offering attendees a perspective that connects embedded system design with the long-term realities of sustaining mission-critical products throughout their operational life.
