Building trust in frontier technologies: cyber resilience for edge AI

As adoption of frontier technologies such as AI, autonomous robotics, quantum computing, and orbital infrastructures accelerates, the attack surface expands while devices are expected to remain secure for years or even decades to come. This session will examine how new product development must build cyber resilience into embedded systems from the start. It will cover hardware-rooted trust, secure boot, device identity, key management, authenticated updates, secure debug, and post-quantum cryptography, with a focus on protecting devices throughout their lifecycle. Attendees will learn how to evaluate security trade-offs across hardware and software, prepare for emerging threats and regulations, and avoid costly security retrofits after products are deployed.
