Bringing Hardware-Accelerated to Edge AI

Nordic Semiconductor recently released its proprietary Axon NPU across an growing portfolio of wireless products. From the nRF54LM20B Bluetooth SoC and the nRF7120E Wi-Fi SoC to the nRF92 Series cellular-IoT modules. This talk examines the architectural decisions behind bringing a shared NPU design to all connectivity products, balancing inference performance and energy efficiency at ultra-low power budgets, and what on-chip AI acceleration means for edge AI application development across different connectivity domains.
