Student Day and High School Student Day
Europe and Germany in particular stand for quality and innovation. To make sure it stays that way, it is important for the electronics sector to recruit and train a sufficient number of future employees. Ongoing technical progress and the long-term risks of demographic change are driving demand for electronics professionals higher and higher.
Once again, Student Day will be held in the electronica Forum on the last day of the fair. More than 300 engineering students from throughout Germany are expected to participate! Organized in conjunction with semica.de and the VDE, Student Day featured an attractive and interesting program.
Besides a panel discussion and a networking lunch with the sponsors, the COSIMA Award will be presented to the winner. The program will be rounded out by a major award ceremony.
Detailed information about Student Day at electronica 2016 will be available here in the summer of 2016.
High School Student Day
electronica founded High School Student Day in conjunction with the ZVEI. It specifically addresses high-school students and is supposed to get them interested in careers in the electronics industry.
Students in grades 10 through 12 at engineering- and technology-oriented secondary schools and vocational schools in the greater Munich area were invited to attend. 150 high-school students from Bavaria participated in 2014.
Short presentations, reports from educational practice and insights at the exhibition stands were used to make a career in engineering as transparent and attractive as possible for the young people. Afterward, all of the students had chance to explore the trade fair on their own.
